Crimes That Shocked The World

Opening for promotional spots of a documentary series on notorious serial killers, broadcast on the Discovery Channel.

The Challenge
Create a cold, tense, and intriguing visual language to support the promos, conveying the chilling atmosphere of historical crimes. The client requested a reference to the iconic Freddy Krueger counting rhyme to build suspense and rhythm for the promotional content.

The Solution
I developed motion graphics centered on a broken, vintage clock counting down relentlessly. Cracked textures and desaturated colors convey decay and historical detachment. Close-ups of the clock hands act as a visual countdown, mirroring the unsettling pace of the rhyme. Subtle blood splatter and analog glitch effects reinforce the disturbing nature of the stories, producing graphics that are both visually striking and fully adaptable for the promo team.
